The journal is in need of the following:
- Flash fiction (below 1,000 words)
- Fiction (short stories up to 3,500 words)
Send your best work. We are looking for all subjects and styles of stories. Dark is good. Light is good. Humor is good. Tension is good. Conflict is good. Complex is good. Inspiring is good. Characterization is good. Build-up is good. Motivation is good. The world of writing has so many positive elements to utilize.
However, some questions about the perception of ‘rock bottom’ should be answered, or at least mentioned. What is it like? How do the characters arrive? What are their plans to leave? Do they even want to leave?
How to submit:
Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the piece attached in any Microsoft Word format. A simple subject line should include your name, your piece’s name, and whether it is poetry, flash fiction, fiction or cover art. A cover letter is unnecessary, although appreciated. The same goes for a biography. However, your website or blog could turn out to be helpful. (Should your piece be accepted into this journal, we would ask for first-time electronic rights on your work.)
Unfortunately, we cannot offer compensation at this time. Multiple and simultaneous submissions are allowed.
